Soil Stabilisation
Soil stabilisation is an environmentally friendly method of enhancing the strength and stiffness characteristics of soils through in-situ mix, therefore drastically reducing the carbon footprint involved with both unsuitable soil removal and haulage of aggregate to site. It reduces the carbon footprint involved with both road haulage of aggregate to site and removal of unsuitable soil. Noise pollution and road traffic congestion in the local area are also greatly reduced.

Spreading

Streumaster RW 16000 spreader applies product (lime/cement) to the material with excellent spreading precision. Percentage product required depends on the required CBR and the MCV of material. Typical required would be 15%+.
CBR values
Moist Clay 5
Moist Sand 10
Clean Crushed Rock 70+
Mixing

Mixing drum pulverises the binding agent into the material working at the required depth, working in layers of 300mm.

Compaction

The correct compaction is vital to eliminate air pockets. Ideally use 19 tonne smooth drum or sheep's foot vibrating rollers.
Compaction tests are then carried out to ensure the required values have been met. (<4.5%)
